COVID-19 and Clinic Closure

It is with a heavy heart but a massive desire to keep you, myself and my family safe, that I decided this past Monday to close my business until April 6, 2020.  This morning, Doug Ford announced a provincial state of emergency.  The timeline of my closure may extend depending on how the COVID-19 virus spreads.  Here is hoping that we can “flatten the curve”.  Should the “state of emergency” be lifted before April 6th, I will make a decision then as to whether or not to open earlier.

As much as I take precautions to ensure that the environment you come into is safe (I had also increased those precautions by increasing the frequency that surfaces that you could come into contact with were disinfected, there is a screening tool that you would receive before your appointment and you would be screened at the door as well), there is still no way of knowing if someone was exposed to the coronavirus at the grocery store before they came into the treatment room.  As such, when I can return to work, I doubt the virus will have ended. My increased frequency of cleaning will continue and, I likely will continue screening clients before they come in.

As of this past weekend, my online booking system will say to “contact to book”.  I have a header at the top of the Jane booking page updating what is happening with my schedule.  My Facebook page will also be updated with what is happening with my schedule.

My schedule at Kneaded Touch in Barrhaven has also been set to “contact to book”. You will find updated information about the Kneaded Touch clinic or on the Kneaded Touch Facebook page.

If you are having pain, decreased range of motion, headaches, you cannot move, etc. please feel free to send me an email or send a text or call.  I can try and offer some different pain relieving techniques that may help you out including exercises/stretches, hydrotherapy, some massage techniques that you or a family member can help you with.  I don’t want anyone to feel like they are all alone and dealing with their discomfort.  Should you feel that you are in so much pain that you have to go to the ER, please email or call me; I may be able to help or, I may be able to have you come in on an emergency basis.  If you have a baby that is not eating and you need the support, please call or email; this could be an emergency reason to have an appointment.

I hope you stay strong and healthy and most of all, we can only take one day at a time.  I hope you are able to enjoy your time to reflect, catch up with friends virtually, enjoy nature, connect with your kids/family, or do all that purging in your house that you have been putting off.
